पानी तो पिला दो यार
कोई चालीस साल पुरानी बात है। तब ना तो कश्मीर में आतंकवाद था और ना ही बंदूक का चलन किन्तु किसी ना किसी बहाने प्रदर्शन होते रहते थे। कभी अमेरिका के खिलाफ तो कभी इस्राईल के खिलाफ, कभी भुट्टो के हक़ में और कभी उसको फँसी देने वाले ज़ियाउलहक़ के समर्थन में, कभी शेख़ अब्दुल्लाह की नज़रबंदी पर और कभी शिया संप्रदाय के मुहर्रम जलूस निकालने पर।
उस समय की सरकार जल्दी से सी आर पी ऍफ़ को तैनात करके ला एंड आर्डर बहाल कर लेती थी। सामान्यतया लाठियों से काम चल जाता था फिर भी कभी-कभी आंसों लाने वाली गैस इस्तेमाल होती थी।
एक दिन सी आर पी ऍफ़ का एक जवान भटकता हुआ एक अंधी गली में जा फंसा। बहुत कोशिश के बावजूद उसे रास्ता नहीं सूझ रहा था। प्रदर्शन करने वालों की एक टोली जो इस तरफ निकली उसे देख कर क्रोधित हो गयी। लगे उस को थपड और घूंसे मारने। फिर जूते, चप्पल और कांगडियां, जो हाथ में आया उसपर फेंक दिये। जवान बे होश हो गया।
मारने वालों में से एक आदमी की नज़र उसपर पडी और वह चिल्लाया, "अरे रुक जाओ, रुक जाओ, यह आदमी मर जाए गा। कोई इसे पानी तो पिला दो यार। फिर वह स्वयं दौड़ कर एक बोतल में पानी ले आया और सिपाही को पिलाने लगा जब तक वह होश में नहीं आया। फिर उसको सहारा देकर खड़ा किया गया और दो तीन आदमी उसके साथ जा कर उसे सड़क पर छोड़ आये।
Maine ye kai baar logo se suna hai ki isko sabak sikhana chahiye lekin sabak sikhane ke chakkar me wo log dusro ki jaaan hi le lete hain... Ab unlogo se puchen ki - sabak shikhne ke liye uska zinda bhi to hina jaruri hai..

DeleteThanks............Loved it.......Honestly speaking my eyes just got moist on what kashmir was and what it has been made now. However, being optimistic I am hopeful that this all non sense will evaporate and Kashmir will blossom back with peace, serenity, plurality and above them all the very culture of kashmir.

ReplyDeleteAfter beating the guy, someone amongst them realized that poor guys had gone unconscious and instead of fleeing away they came back and consoled the guy and brought him back to life. This is the essence that I love about the very culture of Kashmir and this is what I call kashmiriat. My eyes got moist for this essence that used to be the hallmark of Kashmir. You, being there for many years, would have surely touched that essence. Thanks again for that essence to come out.
